Opening Reception | In Practice: Anita Esfandiari

Join SculptureCenter for an opening reception on Wednesday, January 22, 6-9pm to celebrate the debut of In Practice: Anita Esfandiari (on view January 23 - February 3, 2025).

Anita Esfandiari’s sculptures engage with diverse mediums, mirroring the inherent socio-political, micro, and macroeconomic conditions that shape everyday reality. Her new work for SculptureCenter will juxtapose the materiality of Euro and Iranian Rial coins, highlighting the drastic fluctuations and dramatic inequality in the two currency values over the last years.

About In Practice
Each year, In Practice invites artists who have not yet had an institutional solo exhibition in New York City to submit proposals for solo exhibitions in designated gallery spaces at SculptureCenter. Artists are also invited to propose off-site projects, publishing initiatives, performances, and nontraditional formats, which will be considered based on feasibility.
