Holiday Giving

With the holiday season here, consider donating to one of the many non-profit organizations in LIC and supporting their community events.

  • The Candy Cane Lane is back! Every year The Floating Hospital transforms their health center into a festive winter wonderland for families to choose the perfect toy and receive warm clothing. To make a donation, contact Cynthia Davis. Please note that only new toys and clothing can be donated. Donations accepted in-person & pick-ups can be arranged, The Floating Hospital (41-43 Crescent St.)
  • City View Pharmacy is hosting their 11th Annual Holiday Toy Drive now through 12/20. All toys donated will benefit The Blue Child Project, founded by a former NYC police officer whose "elves" collect and deliver holiday toys to hospitalized children in New York City at Christmas.
  • Hour Children hopes to make the holidays brighter through donations of new toys, new clothes, twin sheets sets, comforters or towels, gently used coats, and non-perishable foods. Deliveries can be sent to Hour Children, (36-11 12th Street, Lower Level), Monday- Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Always remember throughout the year that there food pantries in the neighborhood that need public support. View full list here.
