• Building a Stable Structure
Building a sturdy, reliable structure is a fundamental aspect of engineering. In this program, students will explore different methods for creating a brick model that is both strong and functional. As they are given new building projects to complete, they will be positively encouraged to think critically and use teamwork to solve engineering and design problems.
• Creativity
Snapology’s Harry Potter program encourages students to embrace their imagination and create familiar items with a unique, personalized twist. By using visual aids, holding creative classroom brainstorming sessions, and providing basic building parameters, students will be supported as they take creative risks and guided when they aren’t sure what to build next.
• Presentation Skills & Cooperative Play
Presenting in front of others can be a stressful and overwhelming experience for young children, but our program aims to help your child feel more comfortable when presenting in
front of a class by having them explain their builds to peers in a safe and supportive way. When they’re not presenting they will be combining their individual builds and working with
class to create a larger class creation that requires teamwork, critical thinking, and communication. Without communicating, asking questions, showing empathy and patience for their peers they will not be able to achieve group builds.

• Simple Machines: Students will learn about several simple machines throughout the class. Whether learning about pulleys while creating robotic arms, or wheels and axles as they create their very own pull robots, students will see simple machines in action. They will also begin to think critically about their surroundings and realize all the simple machines they use every day.
Axles, Gears, and Motors: Children will learn about the importance of axles, gears, and motors in mechanical movement. They will actively experiment with these components to create their robots, while facilitating a deeper understanding of mechanics.
• Programming Skills: Each class, children will be given a program to operate their robotic build. Students are then encouraged to use critical thinking and programming skills to enhance their robot’s
program. Whether making their build respond to motion and tilt sensors, adding loops, or creating fun sounds, children will learn valuable programming skills in an easy to use, drag and drop programming format.

: Drop off begins each day at 8:30am. For maximum efficiency, we ask you to be punctual at arrival and dismissal times. Campers are required to bring in their own lunch, 1 snack, and a drink every day. Please pack lunches in paper bags or lunch coolers and put the child’s name on each bag. Snapology Day Camp is a “nut sensitive” environment. As we have several students with food allergies, no peanut or tree nut products are permitted.
