We are excited to invite you to our upcoming hiring event at the Woodside Library (flyer attached). This event will bring together 150-200 candidates with diverse backgrounds in retail, IT, construction, housekeeping, maintenance, home health aide (HHA), direct support professional (DSP), administration, security, and driving. Additionally, a select group of candidates, who are asylum seekers that have successfully completed the library's LEAD program, will also be in attendance. These individuals possess work authorizations and social security cards, and they are eager to enter the workforce.

Event Details:

  • Date & Time: Thursday October 17, 2024, 1pm-5pm
  • Location: Woodside Library: 54-22 Skillman Ave, Woodside, NY 11377
  • Cost: Free to attend

We kindly ask you to confirm the number of representatives you will send, as well as the number of laptops you plan to bring. This will help us ensure you have a suitable table size and access to outlets. We encourage you to bring your company swag (giveaways) and application forms to engage with potential candidates.

For your convenience, we will provide sign-in sheets. We will collect a copy of these sheets before the event concludes, enabling us to assist in following up with candidates and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements. After the event, we will reach out to discuss next steps based on the sign-in data.

As part of our ongoing partnership, we request that a designated representative from Real-NYC or Molly Maids provide Employment Verification Forms (EVFs) at key employment milestones for candidates hired through this event: initial placement/paid training, 30 days, 90 days, 180 days, 270 days, and 365 days. This information is essential for our funders to verify our success and secure continued support for our community initiatives.

Also attached is a brief slide presentation about Urban Upbound, highlighting our Employment Services.

We look forward to your participation and to making a positive impact together in our community!
